Fairino FR10: 10 kg Collaborative Robot Arm Review
The Fairino FR10 is a six-axis collaborative arm with 10 kg payload and 1,400 mm reach, positioned for machine tending, packaging, pick-and-place, and light welding. At $9,999 it is a cost-conscious mid-payload option, provided the delivered repeatability, safety setup, integration support, and service coverage meet the application.

Where the FR10 fits
The Fairino FR10 is a six-axis collaborative-arm model in the manufacturer’s FR series. The public model page establishes its place in the product range; the review configuration is positioned around a 10 kg payload class and a 1,400 mm reach. That combination is relevant to machine tending, palletizing, pick-and-place and other applications where a compact cobot does not have sufficient reach or part capacity.
Do not treat arm specifications as a cell specification
Payload must include the end effector, cabling and any carried part, while the usable payload changes with reach, pose, speed and inertia. Likewise, repeatability is not a blanket accuracy promise for a production process. The buyer should obtain the current FR10 datasheet and payload chart, then validate repeatability, cycle time and path performance with the actual tool and workpiece. Published values that vary between resellers are deliberately not used as acceptance criteria here.
Integration and safety
The relevant decision is the complete workcell: mounting stiffness, gripper selection, fixture tolerance, part presentation, PLC handshake, guarding and recovery procedure. Confirm the delivered controller interfaces, industrial Ethernet options, software licences, safety functions and local support with the integrator. Collaborative operation still requires an application-specific risk assessment; a cobot arm is not automatically safe to run beside people at every speed or with every end effector.
What to test before purchase
Run the intended cycle at production speed, include the heaviest expected part and test restart behavior after protective stops, part faults and network interruptions. For machine tending, prove door timing and chuck/fixture interlocks; for welding, qualify the torch, wire feed, seam-tracking and fume-control system as a complete installation. Check commissioning responsibility, training, spares lead time and support coverage before placing production-critical work on the platform.
Verdict
FR10 is a plausible mid-payload cobot candidate for a defined, integrator-led automation cell. Its value case rests on delivered documentation, application testing and service capability—not on an advertised payload and reach alone.

Cons
Editorial Verdict
A credible mid-payload cobot candidate when the delivered configuration, safety design and local integration support have been proven in a representative acceptance test.
